Q.  What is Linda’s Links to Literature?

A.  Linda’s Links to Literature offers over 35,000 literature-based resource links.
We have hundreds of links that provide general information about children’s and young adult literature, authors and illustrators, audio book excerpts, book of the week, and more for free.

Subscribers to Linda’s Links to Literature have access to a database with thousands of links to book guides, literature units, lesson plans, activities, quizzes, games, webquests, worksheets and more for children’s and young adult literature.

Q.  How do I subscribe?

A.  Complete the online subscription form and select a payment option. Subscribe Today!
 
Q.  What payment options do you accept?

A.  We accept the following payment types: school/district checks, PTA/PTO checks, personal checks, certified/cashier's checks, money orders, or purchase orders.  We accept credit cards through PayPal.

 
Q.  Why is my subscription not active?

A. Your subscription may not be active for a couple of reasons.

·       If we have not received your payment, your subscription will not be active.

·       Your subscription will not be active if you were paying through PayPal and did not complete the payment process. Note: If paying through PayPal, you will receive an email payment receipt from PayPal. If you do not receive the payment receipt from PayPal, your payment was not completed.  

·       Your subscription may have expired.

Q.  When will my subscription begin?
A.  Your subscription will begin on the date your payment is received. You will receive an email from us when your subscription is active.
 
Q.  How long will my subscription last?
A. Subscriptions are for 1 year and will expire 365 days from your activation date.
 
Q.  Can I get a free trial or preview?

A.  We currently offer a free preview page. At this time, we do not offer free trials.

 

Q.  Do you have IP authentication?

A.  Yes, we offer IP authentication to school districts.
 

Q.  How often is your website updated?
A.  We add new links daily.
 

Troubleshooting

Q.  How do I access the links to lesson plans, activities, etc.?
A.  You must login with your username and password. You will be directed to the Welcome page of the subscription. You will find detailed instructions on how to search.
 
Q.  Why can't I see the entire page?
A.  There are two scroll bars to the right on the website. The inner scroll bar will allow you to scroll within the frame of the site. The outer scroll bar allows you to scroll the entire web page.
 
Q.  Why did I find a dead link?
A.  We run our links through a link checker every month. Our staff works to correct or relocate dead links.

If you find a dead link, please email us the title of the book and the name of the link that needs to be repaired.
 

Q. Why do the login fields blink when I try  to login?
A.  You may not be typing your username and/or password correctly.
On the login page, click on
forgotten your password. You must enter the email address used when you subscribed. Your password will be sent to the email address on file.
 
Q. Why don't I receive the newsletter anymore?
A. If you previously received the newsletter and are no longer receiving it. Your school or district server may have blocked the newsletter email. The newsletter may have been marked as SPAM by your server. Or the newsletter is blocked by the server due to server gateway parameters.
Check with your IT department. If your IT department needs assistance, have them
email us.

Managing your Subscription

Q.  How do I update my profile?
A.  Email us your new information. Include your username and password for verification.
 
Q.  How do I change my email address?
A.  Email us your new email address. Include your old email address for verification.
 
Q.  How do I change my username and/or password?
A.  Email us your new username and password. Include your old username and password for verification.
 
Q.  What is my password?

A.  If you have forgotten your username and/or password, go to the login page and click on forgotten your password. You must enter the email address used when you subscribed. Your password will be sent to the email address on file.
 

Q. Can I share my password with others?
A.  No, your password cannot be shared between friends or co-workers unless a school or district license has been purchased. You cannot post your Linda’s Links to Literature username and password to any web page viewable by the public. Sharing unauthorized passwords is an infringement of the terms of use policy and will result in termination of the subscription.
 
Q.  Can I access my subscription from home and school?
A.  Yes, you can access your subscription from any location with Internet access.
 
Q.  When will my subscription expire?

A. Your subscription will expire 365 days from the date it was activated.
If you do not remember when your subscription expires, please email us.

We send out renewal notices 90, 60 and 30 days prior to your subscription expiration.
 

Q.  How do I renew my subscription?

A. Subscriptions will not be renewed automatically, unless payment was received through PayPal.

If you paid through PayPal, check your PayPal account information to be sure it is current and accurate.
For automatic renewal details, please see your original PayPal receipt.
We send out renewal notices 90, 60 and 30 days prior to your subscription expiration. If you do not receive the renewal notices, it is possible that the emails are blocked by your school/district server.

Be sure to keep track of your subscription expiration.
 

Q.  Can I change how I pay for my subscription when I renew?
A.  Yes. If you paid with PayPal when you subscribed and do not wish to use PayPal when you renew, email us before your subscription expires and we will send you the other payment options.
If you paid with a
school/district check, PTA/PTO check, certified/cashier's check, money order, or purchase order and would like to pay by credit card through PayPal, just email us.
 
Q. Can I still renew my subscription even though it has expired?
A. Yes. If your subscription recently expired and you forgot to send your renewal payment, login to Linda's Links to Literature and you will be given the payment options. Select a payment option.
Once your payment has been received, you will receive an email for activation.
 
Q.  How do I cancel my subscription?
A.  Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Subscriptions must be cancelled within 24 hours of subscribing for a refund. After the 24 hour period, the subscription fee is non-refundable.
Click the cancel my subscription link and complete the cancellation form.
